Review: Fiskars Leaf Rake

Coming off the purchase of the very well designed digging shovel I was curious to look at what else Fiskars was putting out. They have a lot more than you think! We had recently broken the handle of our only rake about a third of the way off, so what better reason to buy another orange handled tool! (Editors note: We broke it the rest of the way off making a splint to hold this assholes leg together.)

Review: Cold Steel Two Handed Katana Machete

When I was growing up ninjas were the end all be all epitome of coolness. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Shinobi, and Ninja Gaiden were just a few of the things inspiring us to want to learn the stealthy lethal techniques of the ninja. Just like so many things in America, overcapitalization ran something that we once held as so cool straight into the ground. I think Surf Ninjas was pretty much the final straw for me. Review: Husky Fiberglass Handle Transfer Shovel

When we first started our spot the allure of cheap shovels was too much for us to resist and we ended up with a bunch of those $10 green fiberglass shovels Home Depot stocks. The thinking was that we would just return them when they broke since they had a five year warranty. Sure enough they quickly started to succumb to the demands that starting a new set of trails puts on tools. As they would break we would take them back and exchange them for new ones. The problem was the hassle of it all. Our trails aren’t very car accessible, so…

Review: Fiskars Long Handle Digging Shovel

After about a year of digging with the cheap fiberglass shovels I somehow stumbled across this beast. I was ordering something on Amazon and for some reason (probably boredom) just started searching shovels. Most of the results were the same thing you’d find in the big hardware stores. Then I saw something I had never seen before, the Fiskars Long Handle Digging Shovel! I just thought they made scissors, turns out they make one badass shovel.

Review: True Temper Steel Wheelbarrow

Over the winter we found ourselves in the market for an additional wheelbarrow. An ill-advised concrete toss had put a crack in our old one, plus its tire had developed an annoying slow leak. Also we felt we could up our productivity if we doubled up on wheelbarrows. Why have people standing around doing nothing while one person went to empty a load when they could be simultaneously filling up another one. Being the cheap asses we are we spent a few days trolling Craigslist for deal before breaking down and heading to the local Home Depot. Our last wheelbarrow…
