Unfortunately prior obligations kept me from making it to this years Gtown Summer Jam. Justin Kimmel and the Gtown dudes have a good thing going on up there, and their jams have become an event not to be missed. If you didn’t make it out to this one I’d highly recommend planning on being at their Fall Jam. Hit the jump button after you check out the video action above for a photo gallery and for a write up from Justin.
The trails, located in the center of Greencastle, PA, have been in existence since 1998, gradually growing over the years. In early 2000, we decided to hold the first ever Gtown BMX Jam, and we been having jams ever since. It has become a biannual event that the BMX community looks forward to every year. In mid-June, we have a jam to start the summer season and in October we hold a jam to celebrate the end of the season. This year’s summer jam was an epic success; everyone had a wonderful time coasting and roasting the beautifully shovel sculpted jumps, which have been a work in progress since early spring. It was a hot and humid day, but everyone seemed stoked to ride. Tons of sick stuff went down, one being a huge transfer that no one saw coming. In addition to the guys riding the trails, there was also a flatland show put on by two local legends: Brian Caron and Steve Weddles. No doubt the trails require long hours, but it’s all worth it when I see the smiles on the riders’ faces. There is nothing more rewarding than getting to ride and enjoy something I’ve created with my BMX family. I’d like to thank everyone who came out to the 2013 Gtown Summer Jam. Keep a lookout for the dates for the upcoming fall jam. I hope to see everyone there. Sincerely, Your Local Trail Boss
