Help The Tejano Trails!

It only takes one rotten apple to ruin it for the rest of the bunch. The putrid festering apple in this case goes by the name of Ty Bement. The locals at the Tejano Trails just outside Austin, Texas recently installed a gate out of growing frustrations stemming from Ty bringing kids to the trails to “teach them BMX.” You see, Ty charges parents an undisclosed amount of money to teach their kids this thing we call BMX. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, it’s the way he has gone about it that has upset a lot of people.

Long story short, he is benefitting financially from other people’s work without so much as offering to pick up a shovel to help contribute. It would be one thing if he consulted with the locals first and got their approval. Maybe a deal could have been worked out where he could have donated time digging or even tools for the trails in exchange for the local’s blessings for him to teach his lessons there. Unfortunately that’s not the case, and in a truly dick move he went and complained to the city about the gate that was installed to prevent him and other dry guys from riding the trails when they are being worked on. The city has now called for an immediate meeting with both the public and the diggers regarding the trails.

I don’t know if you can really get much lower than snitching to the city and risking the possible destruction of the trails over something like this. The meeting is scheduled for 5pm next Wednesday (February 4th) at the trails. Please come out and show your support if you’ll be around the Austin area next week. You can also help out by lending the locals a hand getting the trails cleaned up and looking their best for the meeting. Fingers crossed everything works out for the best!
