Review: Compression “Septembre” DVD

From the moment I saw the first trailer for Compression’s “Septembre” DVD I knew something special was in the works. This may shock, amaze, or just plain disgust you, but I’m not really that into full length trails videos. Don’t get me wrong, there’s some awesome ones that have come out, but there’s also been quite a few that have turned out to be pretty boring and repetitive. I’m really happy that “Septembre” ended up being in the awesome category. Let me give a quick synopsis of the video for those of you who have somehow not seen the trailers or read any of the descriptions. The video captures a week long trip that the┬áCompression crew and a bunch of other riders took around France last September. Who are these other guys you may ask? Guys like Chris Doyle, Mike Saavedra, Heath Pinter, Pompom, Richie Dagger, Vince Primel, Dave Dillewaard, Max Bimar, and the list goes on. All in all there were 20+ dudes on the trip and they visited some of the best trails France had to offer. Each set of trails they visited is it’s own section of the DVD. Le Domaine Des Cul Terreux, JLD, La Source, Hoppy, and Urkatu were all stops on the main trip. A few of the guys stayed in France a bit longer and hit up the mythical Banos Trails. Even with a run time of 35 minutes, “Septembre” keeps your attention the whole way through. With so many riders and such a variety of spots, it would be almost impossible for the video to get boring! Seeing all the different trails and lines is just as entertaining as watching people ride them. I know I definitely came away with some ideas for new stuff to build after watching this. I have to say that “Septembre” is a must have for anyone who loves trails. The crew and the trails they ride are amazing, the soundtrack fits the video perfectly, and they didn’t overdo it with too much artsy stuff. The only thing I didn’t like about the video was the song choice for the Banos section. It’s a bit dramatic. So that’s it, that’s my one complaint. Other than that, “Septembre” is dialed! Thirty five minutes of kick ass trails action plus almost an hour of bonus footage. You can’t really ask for much more than that! “Septembre” is available now through the CYDI store and through other shops throughout the world. You can find those listed on the flyer below.
