Today is the day that one of my favorite sections from The Back Bone Video makes it online! As a matter of fact, going back to when I first heard they were going to do a video, Chris Harti’s part was the section that I was most anticipating. Needless to say that I wasn’t let down!
All you people who didn’t get a copy of the Back Bone Video, rejoice because they’ve started putting sections from it online. The first two up are the intro (which you can check out below) and Russell Brindley’s section up above. They need to get working on another video ASAP so we can get some more Rusty footage!
I’ve been anxiously waiting for Back Bones’s official ACT Jam video to surface and they certainly didn’t disappoint! I mean, with James Fox handling the production and all the crazy riding that went down, how could it? Jump to (no pun intended) 06:00 if you want to get straight into the King of Dirt part. I really suggest watching the whole thing though!
Every year the Back Bone crew goes all out and puts on three days of BMX madness that is known as the ACT Jam. Some downhill roasters built next to a race track was the site of one of the jams, and they totally reminded me of the old DK Dirt Circuit days! DIG has a photo gallery up with lots of pics that Cooper Brownlee shot from both the jumps and from concrete stops of the jam. Give them a look and hang tight for an edit that I’m sure will be coming soon. Peep the gallery HERE!
Back Bone’s 2011 Trailmix is one of my favorite trails edits of all time and just what I needed to rewatch to help boost the ol’ spirits during this cold snap we currently have going on here in the North East!
My apologies for the delay! Maybe one day I’ll finally realize that I need to start the whole process of picking these out well before the end of the year rolls around. I thought I’d be able to hammer it out right at the beginning of January, but between traveling and being busy with a bunch of other stuff, I never had the time to fully devote to sitting down and giving this the attention it deserves. So, here we are, damn near the end of February and we’re just now taking a look back on what I thought were…
It’s a definite possibility according to the email that I got from them! They also have a little deal going for those of you who don’t already own a copy of their first video. Order something from Back Bone’s online store and they’ll throw a copy in with your order for free! Even if you already have one, take the free one and pass it off to someone who doesn’t. I guarantee they’ll be stoked!
Back Bone has gone and dialed themselves in a slick new website for 2017 (hopefully we won’t be too far behind them). The whole site looks really good but my favorite feature is that they’ve put together curated groups of products that they like by category, e.g., trails, race, street, etc. Take a minute or two and have a look around HERE!
Thanks to the awesome dudes at Back Bone and this jam that they put on every year, Dane’s legacy and influence continues to live on!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since Dane Searls passed. It somehow doesn’t seem like it was all that long ago that we were all first blown away with his Giants of Dirt project. In reality it’s been half a decade, and even though that much time has passed by nobody still has yet to accomplish what he did back then. Every year the crew at Back Bone throw a jam to honor Dane’s memory, and every year more and more people show up to pay their respects to a man who inspired so many. The wind…
