While it’s not new footage from Blue Bench, it’s footage from Blue Bench and that’s always something to get excited about. Aerial TV headed out to Riverside, CA to interview the Saavedras about the little trails oasis they created in the desert. Giving it my best guess, I’d say this was filmed around 2013? Another thing I’m not sure of is what’s going on with Blue Bench these days. Maybe 2017 will be the year that the place makes a comeback!?
I was really thinking that Red Bull’s Raditudes had completely ditched having trails footage in it this season until this Blue Bench episode dropped. Best thing about the episode is that Red Bull’s athletes aren’t even the focus of it. It’s pretty cool that they let Mike Saavedra and Blue Bench have the shine!
This season of Red Bull’s Raditudes hasn’t had any trails in it up until now. I’m just going to say that they more than made up for it with this episode. Any Blue Bench footage is guaranteed to be good, but Blue Bench footage with Sergio Layos, Corey Bohan and Hucker riding the place is just amazing. I think it’s really cool that they aren’t what the episode even focuses on. The whole thing revolves around what the place means to Mike Saavedra and how being down there digging has helped him get through the injury he suffered last year….
This is funny cause I just so happen to be rocking some Bose noise canceling headphones at this very moment. Also funny is that the Blue Bench Toss has made it into the mainstream!
I’ve missed Mark Potoczny’s POV videos. Glad to see that he’s back on it with a fresh one from the always impressive Blue Bench!
That fine machine above belongs to none other than Blue Bench CEO Mike Saavedra. Jump over to Profile to catch up with what he’s rocking these days. I’ll give you a few hints. There’s a bunch of parts from Profile that have been attached to Deluxe’s soon to be released PA USA frame.
Ok, so what you need to know about this is that it has a good number of clips from Blue Bench starting at 01:13. I’m not one to not post something that has Blue Bench footage so I’m throwing this up. After you watch that first round of clips you can skip ahead to 02:04 to get to another part that has footage from Blue Bench, Fury, Sheep Hills, and Heath’s House. There’s a surprising absence of footage from Blaine’s Trails?
First off I have to say that the hip Mike’s hitting in this ad is WAY bigger than it looks in the picture. I just had to put that out there! The ad is running in the newest issue of Dig and coincidentally Profile’s new Column cranks are available today. They feature a hollow 22mm spindle, and you can pick up a set at your favorite shop or mail order. Hop over to the Profile site for the full specs!
Deluxe just put the second section of Part Deux online, and it’s a good one! Mike Saavedra kills it anywhere he rides, but it’s a real treat to watch him ride his home turf of Blue Bench.
I was wondering when footage of Jeremy’s trip to California was going to surface! He was out there at the same time I was, and though I didn’t get to ride with him, we did catch up at a bangin’ Mexican restaurant by Blue Bench. His buddy Jay Simmons was out there with him as well and handled all of the filming and editing duties of this. It may have taken a while to drop but it was well worth the wait! Via Deluxe
