One of the highlights for me last year was finally getting to meet and ride with Valvo. Though I’ve been a big fan of his riding for years and we occasionally chat online, it wasn’t until his most recent trip to the US that we actually got to meet up and catch some laps. He’s definitely one of those dudes who is as rad off of his bike as he is on! Here’s a look back to half a decade ago when the Continental Trails were still going and Valvo was killing them on the regular.
Unfortunately I have to start this week off on a bad note because I learned over the weekend that Brazil’s Continental Trails have been plowed once again. The trails were originally torn down back in 2014 after some disputes with the city, but just a few months later the locals were able to work things out so that they could rebuild. I don’t know any of the details surrounding why they were torn down this time, but it appears that the city didn’t honor their word that they gave to the locals. My condolences go out to the dudes down there who worked so hard to resurrect the place. I hope they can find a new location someplace where they won’t have to worry about something like this happening again.
I’m always excited to see anything from the second coming of Brazil’s Continental Trails, but this quick edit of Glauber Gaban ripping the place has me exceptionally stoked!
I love reporting news that isn’t about a set of trails getting plowed! This is actually the complete opposite, as it’s the news about the rebirth of Brazil’s legendary Continental Trails. As you may remember, a couple years back the locals lost their long battle with the city to keep the trails. While they were eventually able to reach an agreement, it came several months after the trails had been torn down. Seeing this as an opportunity for a fresh start, they set about completely rebuilding the place better than it was before. I’ve admiringly been watching the progress via social media ever since the rebuild began, and I’m ecstatic to finally see this video of people once again roasting at such a historic site in the Brazilian trails scene!
I can’t even put into words how jazzed I am over this picture that showed up on Dan Clifford’s Instagram yesterday! Last summer after the locals had seemingly come to an agreement with the city to let the trails stay, the Continental Trails in São Paulo Brazil were razed without warning. The trails were a historic and humungous part of the scene down there, and as a mater of fact, they were what led me to discover the rich trail culture that exist in Brazil. It’s been just about nine months since they were plowed, and miraculously the locals have been granted permission to rebuild. I couldn’t be happier for the guys down there. Let’s just all keep our fingers crossed for them that the city does indeed honor their word this time.
If you have any questions as to why Valvo is the man then this six minutes of awesomeness from Faith Co will answer every last one of them. I can’t wait to hang out with him at Toast this year!
Ready for six minutes of Brazilian trails awesomeness set to Fade to Black? I certainly hope so, because that’s just what you get with Valvo’s new “Trails Life” edit for Faith Co. It was especially good to see Continental one last time in this.
There’s only one bad thing about this teaser for the new edit that Valvo has been working on. It’s just a teaser, and we have to wait until the 25th for the full edit. Can’t wait!
Unbelievable! It seemed like things were all good with the situation at Continental but today the locals showed up to this. I’m beyond bummed for the crew down there.
The crew from the Continental Trails loaded up a van and took a little trip to visit the Cosmo Trails and the Horto Trails. Shot out to the dude rocking the CYDI shirt and the two guys representing for the Redskins!
