Back Bone’s 2011 Trailmix is one of my favorite trails edits of all time and just what I needed to rewatch to help boost the ol’ spirits during this cold snap we currently have going on here in the North East!
I used to really enjoy watching Josh Stead ride at contest. Even though he did all the big flippy and whippy circus tricks, he had the style to balance them out. Not sure what he’s up to these days, but hopefully he’s still riding and maybe we’ll see some new footage of him soon.
Thanks to the awesome dudes at Back Bone and this jam that they put on every year, Dane’s legacy and influence continues to live on!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since Dane Searls passed. It somehow doesn’t seem like it was all that long ago that we were all first blown away with his Giants of Dirt project. In reality it’s been half a decade, and even though that much time has passed by nobody still has yet to accomplish what he did back then. Every year the crew at Back Bone throw a jam to honor Dane’s memory, and every year more and more people show up to pay their respects to a man who inspired so many. The wind…
It’s unbelievably been nearly five years since Dane Searls passed away. Back Bone has done an amazing job of keeping his memory alive by bringing people together with an annual jam to celebrate his life. Once again it will be at Hillfire Trails, and you should know by now that it will be an epic time!
For the fourth time riders from all over Australia came together to remember the legendary Dane Searls. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been four years. Dane had such a lasting impact on BMX that it seems like just yesterday that we were all still in awe over Giant’s of Dirt. Even with the wind not 100% cooperating at this year’s jam, everyone still had a blast celebrating the life and legacy of one of the baddest dudes to ever pick up a bike.
It’s been two years since there has been any news on The 4:19 Project. You know, the thing Nick Cooper and Robbie Stewart were doing to pick up where Dane Searls left off with Giants of Dirt. The original promo video was set to private and there has been absolutely no mention of it since then. Well, the other day The 4:19 Project’s Instagram became active and pictures started going up. I guess that means that it’s back on! The terrain doesn’t look as gnarly as what was presented in the original promo vid but I also may be being…
Back Bone’s yearly jam to honor the late Dane Searls took place last month at the Hillfire Trails in Canberra. People from all over showed up to pay tribute to Dane by spending a day with fellow friends having fun on their bikes. Once again the turn out looked amazing and they were blessed with great weather for the third year in a row. Rhysty penned some heartfelt words about the jam over on the Back Bone site that you should really take a second to read after you get done watching this.
Back Bone is throwing their annual D.A.N.E. Jam this weekend to honor the late great Dane Searls. Come on out to the Hillfire Trails on Saturday the 22nd and spend the day taking some laps with friends and remembering a rider whole truly pushed the limits of what is possible on a bike.
Well this was worth every bit of the wait! Back Bone’s annual jam to honor Dane Searls may have been scaled down a bit this year but the energy level was as high as ever. I’m really stoked with how well everything turned out. I know those dudes busted their asses to get the trails running in time for it! Holy shit on dude’s forks shearing off though!
