Holy hell, I can’t believe it’s been almost two months since I did a flashback post. I knew it had been a bit, but damn! Hopefully this video that Joe Rich cooked up eight years ago for Fox will make up for me dropping the ball for so long. I mean, if six minutes of Chase Hawk and Ruben Alcantara doing Chase Hawk and Ruben Alcantara things at various Spanish trails doesn’t make up for it, I don’t know what will.
Damn! Over 40 girls showed up to the first ever Fox Women’s BMX Jam that they put on at Austin’s Walnut Creek Pumptrack! It’s super rad to see so many girls shredding, and of course it’s always great to see my old friend Nina Buitrago out there helping them get stoked!
I have a few minutes before I need to hit the road so why not sneak in one more post. New Zealand’s Joe Simpson has found himself a spot on Fox and he teamed up with Joel McDowell and Cameron Stewart to put together a proper welcome edit. He definitely surprised me with a few of the tricks in here!
It’s been years since I saw this section, or Expendable 2 for that matter. It’s still burned into my memory though! Probably due to the fact that I must have watched it over 100 times back in the day!
Epic is a word that gets tossed around much too often these days, yet there’s no better word to describe this Fox video. Chase Hawk and Ruben Alcantara riding Spanish dirt all captured in slow motion by Joe Rich. Garrett Byrnes even has a few clips! I’ve watched this video dozens of times, and every time I do it’s just as amazing to me as it was when I first saw it three years ago.
Well the internet has been set ablaze today with what can only be described as bicycle assisted gymnastics. More power to you if you’re into that, but I’m going to go ahead and give you something a little easier on the eyes to help you get through this hump day. Via Fox
Gloves… Some people have to ride with them other people can’t stand anything but raw dogging their grips. Personally in the summer my hands sweat like crazy, so gloves are a necessity to hold on through a section. Yet when building said sections I have found that I desire more comfort for long days of digging. Here is where the Fox Reflex Gel Gloves come into play.
Who didn’t have the Little Devil belt that influenced this remake by Terrible One? Well I didn’t because I refused to give up my Play Clothing belt, but it seemed like pretty much everyone else had one. When supplies of the original by Little Devil and a similar belt by Fox dried up Joe decided to make one through T1. They didn’t just copy the design but set off to improve it by addressing the weak points the original had. No word on the release date, but I’ll keep you posted. Maybe I’ll even replace my current Affliction belt with…
No trails, but once again I make exceptions for Ruben.
