Normally I wouldn’t post something this light on the trails, but Jason Watts’ welcome to Back Bone edit is one of those rare and special occasions. I don’t know what else to say other than the dude is an absolute mad man! Trails are at 02:47 and 05:41 but I highly suggest watching the whole thing.
Been meaning to bump Jonny’s welcome to S&M edit back up to the top for a while now. You definitely won’t regret giving it another watch or two!
What more can I say about Jonny that I haven’t said already? There’s nobody out there more BMX than he is, and nobody more deserving of a spot on the S&M squad than him. It should go without saying that Jonny slays it in his Welcome to S&M edit, but I can’t go without mentioning James Fox’s work behind the lens. If anyone out there needs a lesson on how to tastefully work drone footage into an edit, watch this and take notes!
I’ve been anxiously waiting for Back Bones’s official ACT Jam video to surface and they certainly didn’t disappoint! I mean, with James Fox handling the production and all the crazy riding that went down, how could it? Jump to (no pun intended) 06:00 if you want to get straight into the King of Dirt part. I really suggest watching the whole thing though!
S&M’s Australian squad consisting of Will Gunn, Tom Boorman, Bevan Cowan, Xave Koen and Jonny Mackellar hit the road for a trip around New South Wales and the A.C.T. There’s a bit of everything in here but it’s definitely pretty heavy on the trails roastage, and worth watching even the non-trails parts. You can also check out some words and photos from the trip over on DIG!
My apologies for the delay! Maybe one day I’ll finally realize that I need to start the whole process of picking these out well before the end of the year rolls around. I thought I’d be able to hammer it out right at the beginning of January, but between traveling and being busy with a bunch of other stuff, I never had the time to fully devote to sitting down and giving this the attention it deserves. So, here we are, damn near the end of February and we’re just now taking a look back on what I thought were the top 10 trails web edits of 2016. Feel free to agree, disagree or be ambivalent!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since Dane Searls passed. It somehow doesn’t seem like it was all that long ago that we were all first blown away with his Giants of Dirt project. In reality it’s been half a decade, and even though that much time has passed by nobody still has yet to accomplish what he did back then. Every year the crew at Back Bone throw a jam to honor Dane’s memory, and every year more and more people show up to pay their respects to a man who inspired so many. The wind may have shut the riding down a bit early this year, but James Fox was out there with camera and drone controller in hand to capture the roasting that took place before it did.
Give this James Fox edit of Jonny Mackellar and Dylan Lewis ripping the shit out of Snakewoods a rewatch and you’ll be stoked up and ready to shred the fuck out of whatever jam you’re headed to this weekend!
There’s nothing I could say that would possibly add more value to this than what the title does on its own. Two of Australia’s raddest dudes showing what a typical weekend at Snakewoods looks like for them, thank you James Fox for making this one happen!
James Fox’s edit from the Valley View Trails Jam most def deserves a bump back up to the top!
