The Garden “Horto in Urbs” Shirts Available Now!

Something I’ve wanted to do for a long time is to be able to help trails raise money for what they need to keep on keeping on. That’s why I jumped at the chance to help Chicago’s Garden Jumps out by carrying the awesome new “Horto in Urbs” t-shirts that they made in the CYDI Store. First and foremost, 100% of the proceeds from these goes straight back to The Garden for tools, supplies and to fund future projects. So pick one up and you’ll be directly helping to contribute to their growth! They’re available in black, heather grey and light olive, and we have sizes medium through xl. We only have 25 though, so act fast and GET ONE HERE while you can!

Garden local Matt Van Acker was kind enough to answer some questions about the new shirt design and the history of the trails, both of which are pretty interesting so have a read below!

CLINK – A Bike Lock with a Concealed Integrated Tool Kit

I’m not going to lie, I almost didn’t open the email I found waiting in my inbox this morning that had Kickstarter in the title. I automatically assumed it was a mass emailing from Kickstarter about some new project looking for funding. Well part of that was right. It was indeed a new project seeking funding but the email wasn’t from Kickstarter, it was directly from Jon Schwass and the project he’s trying to get funded is a bike lock that contains a concealed integrated tool kit. Initially Jon’s Kickstarter video won me over because of the sprinkling of photos of him riding trails that he included in it, but as I watched the whole thing I began to really appreciate what he created. His CLINK lock hides away 15mm and 17mm sockets, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 7/32”, and 1/4” allen bits in the heat treated u-bar and shackle. How the hell has no one thought of this before! I’d be all about using something like this when I’m cruising around town on my BMX or big bike. Aside from that, it would also be perfect for locking up the wheelbarrows at my trails. That way there would always be tools around if someone needed them. Give the video above a watch and if your into it, you can pledge some money to the project HERE.
