Flashback: Segment Clothing – Trails Is Shouting

Segment Clothing was kind of on its way out back when CYDI started five years ago. Luckily they did leave us when one last present before they exited, this upload of their 2008 full length “Trails Is Shouting” video. Going back and watching stuff like this always reminds me of how timeless riding trails really is.

Paying My Respects To Chertsey

Last night I started seeing rumors floating around social media that the legendary trails that are Chertsey were no more. There seemed to be some disagreement as to whether they were already gone or not so I wanted to hold off on posting anything until I actually saw something about it from a local. That came today, and the word is that the trails are indeed going to be plowed by the land owner due to insurance reasons. Having never actually been to Chertsey I can only speak about the place as an outside observer. It was definitely a spot that was always on my bucket list to visit, and a place that I firmly believe earned the right to be called legendary. I remember seeing videos from there during the mid to late 2000s and being absolutely blown away by the place. They were big, they were fast, and the locals rode them in a way that reminded you of why you got into riding trails in the first place. There were plenty of edits that came out from Chertsey over the years, but for me the one above is what always comes to mind whenever I hear the name. Ride UK put together a proper tribute to Chertsey with loads of pics and videos that you can check out HERE. I definitely suggest that you do yourself a favor and take a look. I’m absolutely gutted to see yet another spot of that stature go.

Two Days At The Trails

I spotted this one over on Compression and wondered why I had never posted it. I remember the edit very well but somehow it had never made it onto the site. Turns out that it came out about a month before CYDI started. So here it is, some South London trails goodness that definitely deserves to be on here!

Chertsey August 2010

I’m not taking it as far back as I usually do for Flashback Friday this week, but this is still one of my favorite trail edits of all time. I used to always joke that someone should use that Kate Bush song in an edit, and then three years ago this popped up. Chertsey was looking as good as ever and the song worked perfectly!

Segment Clothing – Trails Is Shouting

This has been a damn good day for trails videos! First “The Black Magic Sessions” and now Segment Clothing‘s full length “Trails is Shouting” release from their 2008 UK trails trip. You know this is a good one with the rider list including the likes of Darin Read, Scott Edgworth, Matt Priest, Arrash Saidi, Rikki Gunner, Robin Fenlon, Bob Manchester, Lima, Dean Mayo, Max Wood, and more. It’s still a bit early here but this one is definitely worth cracking a beer and watching on the big screen.

Max Wood – The Trawlerman Edit

Proper‘s Max Wood filmed this edit to promote his signature “Trawlerman” frame. It’s mostly street but has about 30 seconds of trails goodness in the middle. The whole edit is pretty good, but skip ahead to 01:26 if you want to get right to the trails.
