Looks like our old friend Peter Hammond has been spending some time in North Carolina getting his tires dirty with that beautiful red clay!
Take a load off by giving this Solstice edit another much deserved second watch!
Everyone owes Dan Closser his choice of either a high five or a beer since he was kind enough to take this older Solstice footage and reimagine it into a whole new edit!
It’s a travel day for me today so I’m going to throw up a couple of my favorite videos from the last couple of weeks before I take off. First up is this one of my friends in the Northwest getting one last session at The Don’s before winter closed them out. I can’t wait to ride that spot next year!
Consider yourself lucky if you live in a spot where you can ride all year long, because trail season is pretty much a wrap for the vast majority of us living in the Northern Hemisphere. John Donald and some of the NW crew recently closed out the year at his spot with this final session captured in the video above. I’m pretty interested to see how the place evolves over the winter now that they are back to shovels full time.
Judas Priest and the woods of the Northwest sure do go well together! Throw a heavy crew of Northwest legends into the mix and you’ve got my favorite edit this week!
It’s been an abnormally good day for videos and I’m happy to keep it rolling with one from the lush forest of the Northwest. I’ve never seen this spot before, but damn does it look fun!
Half the fun of trails are getting to enjoy them with friends. It’s always a blast having RESPECTFUL visitors come and ride the stuff you’ve put so much work into. First runs can be a bit hairy, but usually the locals get to have a few chuckles at the expense of the people trying to figure out the lines. Hell, I’ve never even been to Solstice and I LOL’d at Doyle having to drop the tailhook after that roller. Solstice had their fair share of people come through this past season and Cale Christi and Kurtis Jones had the camera…
The man aboard the Profile X-File above is Mike Hammond and he’s the subject of Ride’s Friday Interview this week. Mike heads up the BMX program at Diamondback and is the one making sure they continue to stay heavily involved with the NW trails scene. I don’t know about you, but I don’t know of any other “big” companies kicking down beer and shovels at the trails. This interview with the man at DB’s helm gives some insight into their motivations and future plans.
