I had no idea how much you guys liked this top 10 trails web edits thing until emails started pouring in over the last couple weeks asking if I was going to be doing it this year! Truth be told, I’ve been nibbling away at it since the beginning of the month but all the traveling that I’ve also been doing slowed things down a bit. It’s always a pretty tough job putting this list together, but this year was the toughest yet. After going back through 2015’s videos I ended up with a “short list” of a few dozen…
I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to update the site over the weekend so I wanted with leave you with a longer flashback. Sunday’s Trail Squad has long since been disbanded and their trails oriented frames and completes are also a thing of the past, but at least they left us with this edit from their time in our world.
Terra put together a photographic look back on the Panamoka trails that goes all the way back to 2008. Though it’s still an unconfirmed rumor, he also talks about the possible reasoning for the trails being plowed. I don’t even have any words to describe how blood boiling it is if it’s indeed true. Head over Dig and check out Keith’s photos and words on the life and death of Panamoka.
There were so many wild things in this Shawn Real edit that have been bouncing around my head ever since it dropped. He nollied the DMC at Boondocks! As ridiculous as that is, he also 270’d it. Then there’s that case in the beginning so big that Salty Pistachio felt it. I’m still getting chuckles out of that one every time I think about it.
Rad little edit from FBM featuring the one and only Eric Hennessey and some friends cruising woods from New England to Eastern Pennsylvania. He also provided the soundtrack for it!
Dig just dropped this Terra made edit featuring Shawn Real. There’s also some photos and a little piece on Shawn that you can check out HERE. It’s pretty funny to me that Terra said that for months they never thought to tell him about the trails, thinking he wouldn’t be interested. I’ve only ever ridden trails with Shawn, but that was way back in the early 2000’s when he was a part of the Stileman Crew. It’s good to see that he can still shred a row of dirt mounds. There’s some street and park stuff mixed into this edit…
This old Panamoka edit that Terra made has been sitting in my bookmarks folder for a few months now waiting to be used for a flashback post. Little did I know when I originally bookmarked it that Panamoka would be gone by the time I got around to putting it up. Such a shame that those woods won’t be seeing good times like this anymore.
Yesterday the news that Long Island’s Panamoka Trails had been plowed began circulating around social media. I don’t know all of the details around it but it seemed to come without much or any warning. As a community we’re all feeling for the crew out there. I don’t think anyone could possibly put down any better words about the loss of this legendary spot than the ones local Keith Terra did on his Instagram, so I’ll leave you with those and some videos showcasing the hard work and dedication of the Panamoka Crew that won’t soon be forgotten. “Every trail…
I’ve been to Long Island a few times now and still have yet to make it out to Panamoka. Usually what happens is that someone will bring up the traffic on the L.I.E. and someone else will inevitably suggest we go to Boondocks first and then see what happens. What happens is that we never make it any further. That’s got to change next season!
Zak Earley’s windowless shade van headed off to Long Island in pursuit of good times and dialed trails. They hit some skateparks first but jump to 02:53 to skip all that and get right to the hair metal fueled L.I. trails section. Terra, K, and Supes even make some appearances in it! This has me itching to get back up to The Island asap. Maybe I’ll even finally make it out to Panamoka.
