The Trail Rider of the Year category for NORA Cup will always be near and dear to my heart, and something that puts a smile on my face. A smile not only because I’m stoked that the category now exist, but also because it makes me laugh thinking back to the conference call I was on in order to make it happen. I’ll just say this, we were dangerously close to being lumped into the Transition Rider of the Year category! Having to explain how someone like these fine gentlemen nominated for the award this year differ from let’s say…
All you people who didn’t get a copy of the Back Bone Video, rejoice because they’ve started putting sections from it online. The first two up are the intro (which you can check out below) and Russell Brindley’s section up above. They need to get working on another video ASAP so we can get some more Rusty footage!
James Fox’s edit from the Valley View Trails Jam most def deserves a bump back up to the top!
Any footage from the Valley View Trails is a treat, but this jam edit that James Fox put together is hands down my favorite to come from my buddy Will and his brother Chris’ place! Mother Nature may not have wanted this jam to happen but even she couldn’t win out over the will power of this many trail dudes gathered in one place. Enjoy!
I’m not exactly sure when it was that I first saw Russell Brindley ride. If I had to guess, I would say it was at one of those crazy contest that Red Bull did in Australia where they carved out a ravine into a course that was part trails and part park. I don’t remember the exact details of it, but what I do remember is that Russ absolutely killed the thing. Hell, he may have even won it! I’ve been a big fan of his ever since, and that said, I was beyond excited when I opened up an…
I figured I better come up with something exceptional for a flashback post since I’ve missed getting one up for the last couple of weeks. Pretty much everything T-1 does is exceptional, so I feel this video from their 2011 Australia tour should more than make up for my slacker ways. Man, I totally forgot Tom Dugan used to be on T-1!
Just because this is “extra” footage doesn’t mean that it didn’t deserve to be in The Back Bone Video in the first place. I don’t even know how some of this didn’t make the cut! Only two copies of the video left in the STORE. Who wants them?
Well what do you know, the Back Bone boys had some extra clips left over that didn’t make it into the video! Just like the video, it’s a mix of everything, but a good bit of the footage is from the trails. And speaking of the video, there are a few copies sitting here on my desk that are looking for homes. Head over to the STORE and snatch up a copy before someone else does and they’re all gone!
I couldn’t be more stoked to announce that we have The Back Bone Video available for pre-order in the store. They’ll be landing here early next week, and we’ll be shipping them out as soon as we get our hands on them! You can also expect a full review as soon as I get eyes on it. With full sections from Tyson Jones-Peni, Russell Brindley, Chris Harti, Benn Pigot, Jack Gruber, Will Gunn, Zac Miner, Jack O’Reilly, and even Ol’ Rhysty himself, there’s absolutely zero doubt that it will be fucking awesome! Peep the promo below and then get over…
Russell Brindley has one fine looking T1 Barcode, and Back Bone put up this bike check on the machine. You’ll definitely want to make your way over to their site to also see some pics of this thing in action. Digging the “table saver” pad! My top tube never gets me when I do tables, but when I was a kid my brake lever finger used to get bent all out of wack. I actually considered moving my lever to the other side until I realized that I could just ease up on my grip.
