For week three of Ride UK’s “10 Weeks of Murray”, Stephen talks about the trick that both made and broke his riding career, the double backflip.
Ride UK’s “10 Weeks of Murray” continues with this video where Stephen recalls his childhood racing, his transition to dirt jumping and then how Stay Strong came to be.
It’s been nearly a decade since Stephen Murray’s crash at the Baltimore Dew Tour stop, a moment that will forever be burned into my memory. Actually typing this and thinking back on seeing the crash just gave me chills. Stephen has had an unimaginable number of ups and downs over ten years since that night, and he’s decided now to share them with the world via an autobiography titled “Staying Strong.” The book will be released on June 22nd, the anniversary of his crash. To coincide with the book Ride UK is doing “10 Weeks of Murray” which will include…
Stephen Murray has made the decision that the time has come for him to move back to England to be with his family. Stephen has lived here in the States for 18 years now, and as you can imagine, packing up everything and moving back to the UK is going to be quite an expensive venture. To help with those cost he’s asking for a little assistance, and you can help out by making a donation via the Gofundme Page he has set up. Let’s pull together to make sure Stephen has what he needs to make the journey back…
I was hoping there would be an edit from this year’s Bangers & Mash since I missed the livecast. Not only is there an edit, but there’s a Dylan Pfohl edit! It looks like this years jam was a damn good time for everyone who made it out. How could it not be with Rick Thorne’s band playing? I do have a question though. Pat Casey knows that Fox shirt that he wears all the time is a dress, right?
What better way to escape old man winter than with a month long trip around California in an RV. That’s just what Sam Pilgrim, Danny Pace, Sam Reynolds, and Adam Williams did. From the looks of things, it was one hell of a good time! There’s a glorified (and an actual) foam pit session right in the middle of this thing. I’d suggest skipping through it when you get there. 04:38 will get you back to the actual trails action at Aptos, Stephen Murray’s house, and finally Cory “I’m Blacker than John Lee” Nastazio’s trails.
Hell yeah Stephen!!!!!! “It’s been over 6 years since Stephen’s accident, sometimes with long periods of no real progress. The road to recovery was always going to be a long one.. Well this past week in rehab there were some huge progress made! A connection was made between Stephen’s quad muscles contracting to help him to extend his legs. A lot of effort and concentration required but positive sign’s and hope that this can be built on with determination and regular therapy. The video is a little slow to get going but a few minutes in you see the movements…
This new one from Stephen Murray starts off with him being a guest on Nasty’s radio show (which I really need to start listening to) and then moves on to a bit of rehab before him and the Stay Strong Crew head off to San Francisco to check out the Dew Tour.
Robbie Meade put together this edit from the Murray Jam that took place at the Decoy Bowl and Trails. I’m sure the bowl stuff was good and all but I skipped through it and started watching at 01:37 when the trails part began. There are some really cool shots throughout the whole edit but the one of the whip at 02:56 is a thing of pure beauty!
The latest Dylan Pfohl masterpiece comes in the form of Larry Edgar’s new edit for Stay Strong. It starts off at Stephen Murray’s trails, moves onto a concrete park, and then gets back to more trails at 02:02. I’m not going to lie, I skipped right through the park stuff. Larry’s riding at the trails was on point though!
